Board of Supervisors
Every Conservation District is served by 7 publicly elected supervisors, and may also have unelected associate members. Here in Jackson County, our supervisors represent their constituents by managing and protecting the county's natural resources: they keep abreast of local natural resource issues and landowners' needs, and they partner with various other organizations, agencies, and officials to ensure that those resources are effectively managed. For example, our District supervisors work with the City of McKee, Fiscal Court, and NRCS to co-manage Pigeon Roost Creek Watershed and its 3 dams, which prevent flooding and constitute part of our water supply.
Our board meetings are open to the public. They are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 9:00 a.m. If this changes, notices will be posted on our office door and on Facebook at least one week in advance.
To attend a meeting via Zoom, contact us in advance to request this. Use Meeting ID 763 107 0957 and password JCCD (all capitals).
If you are interested in becoming a supervisor, contact the Jackson County Clerk's office to learn about filing, or simply visit the Kentucky candidate filing website.
